Reporting to the Nurse Supervisor of the Critical Care Department, the Critical Care Nurse must be able to take direction from leaders efficiently and effectively. The Critical Care Nurse will also work closely with clinical coordinators, and must continuously work to maintain the open line of communication when collaborating with the leadership team. The Critical Care Nurse will also be working closely with the other staff nurses, and will be supported daily by the entire emergency department.

The Critical Care Nurse will be tasked with assessing, identifying, planning, and treating each emergency situation occurring within the department. Working in a stressful environment, the Critical Care Nurse must be able to stay calm and provide the appropriate treatment needed in a timely manner. The Critical Care Nurse will be required to have strong communication skills and be able to work well with other nurses and providers to ensure optimal patient care. Additionally, the Critical Care Nurse must be organized when recording all pertinent information pertaining to patients of the department to ensure the proper care is being implemented within the department.
